Thomas Edison is reported to have put people he was about to hire to a certain test.
He would invite them to have a bowl of soup with him, so the story goes. If the candidate added salt to the soup without tasting it first, they would fail the test.
He didn’t want employees who made assumptions and acted. He wanted people who would test their assumptions before making decisions.
Would you pass Edison’s salt test?
True story or not, it’s a keeper.
